As the NHL looks to boost its digital footprint with new ad campaigns and a series of new digital platforms, it’s now looking to attract talent from other countries.
The league is now looking for a team’s CEO, chief content officer, chief marketing officer, general manager, president, president of the Canadian division, a general manager or executive vice president, a head of digital and digital media, and a member of the executive committee.
The NHL also wants to hire a director of hockey operations, director of marketing, director and senior director of sales, and director of media relations.
For teams, the league also wants a director or chief operating officer, director general of business development, a director, president or general manager and a director general.
There are also other key jobs that can be filled by the NHL, including director of global operations, president and chief operating executive, director, executive vice-president and chief financial officer, deputy director of corporate communications, chief business development officer and director, director-general.
It is not uncommon for teams to hire international employees, but the league has been focused on hiring Canadians since its inception in 1994.
The salary of those positions varies from team to team, but some of the top-paid jobs are in the front office.
The top salaries for head coaches and general managers are $1.6 million and $2.1 million, respectively.
A team’s chief operating officers are paid between $800,000 and $1 million.
In addition, the NHL is looking to add new positions in the next few weeks.
It is looking for digital director of social media and digital director, as well as an assistant general manager.
The number of full-time positions in each of the 30 teams will be increased by 5 per cent for the 2018-19 season, according to the NHL.
